“It is known, and the story comes down from ancient times, that there was not one creation but two, a creation and a re-creation. It is a fact known to the wise that the Earth was utterly destroyed once, then reborn on a second wheel of creation. At the time of the great destruction of Earth, God caused a dragon from out of Heaven to come and encompass her. The dragon was frightful to behold; it lashed its tail, it breathed out fire and hot coals, and a great catastrophe was inflicted upon mankind, The body of the dragon was wreathed in a cold bright light, and beneath, on the belly, was a ruddy hued glow, while behind it trailed a flowing tail of smoke. It spewed out cinders and hot stones, and its breath was foul and stenchful, poisoning the nostrils of men. Its passage caused great thundering and lightning to rend the thick darkened sky, all Heaven and Earth being made hot. The seas were loosened from their cradles and rose up, pouring across the land. There was an awful, shrilling trumpeting, which outpowered even the howling of the unleashed winds. Men, stricken with terror, went mad at the awful sight in the Heavens. They were loosed from their senses and dashed about, crazed, not knowing what they did. The breath was sucked from their bodies, and they were burnt with a strange ash. Then it passed, leaving Earth enwrapped within a dark and glowering mantle, which was ruddily lit up inside. … So awesome was the fearfully aspected thing that the memory mercifully departed from man; his thoughts were smothered under a cloud of forgetfulness. … Men and their dwelling places were gone; only sky-boulders and red earth remained where once they were, but amidst all the desolation, a few survived, for man is not easily destroyed. They crept out from caves and came down from the mountainsides. They were as maddened wild beasts driven into an enclosure before flames; they knew no law, being deprived of all the wisdom they once had, and those who had guided them were gone.
“Man suffers not only for what he does but for what he fails to do. He is not chastised for making mistakes, but for failing to recognize and rectify them. Then the great canopy of dust and cloud, which encompassed the Earth, enshrouding it in heavy darkness, was pierced by ruddy light, and the canopy swept down in great cloudbursts and raging stormwaters. …When the light of the sun pierced the Earth’s shroud, bathing the land in its revitalizing glory, the Earth again knew night and day, for there were now times of light and times of darkness. The smothering canopy rolled away, and the vaults of Heaven became visible to man. The foul air was purified, and new air clothed the reborn Earth, shielding her from the dark hostile void of Heaven.” ~The Kolbrin Bible, Chapter 3, (21st Century Master Edition by Janice Manning and Marshall Masters)
Second Commentary
This is the second in a series of commentaries on the Kolbrin Bible. In the first, we covered the general ideas of it and the fact that it is a spiritual document, but like many spiritual documents, one must understand the spiritual allegory used to grasp its meaning. We also looked at the first chapter of the first book, the book of Sacred Registers. You can read the first one by clicking here. In this post, we will look at chapter 3 of book one, the Book of Gleanings, part of the Egyptian section written in ancient Egypt, also called the Bronzebook. We will also find a discussion of this destruction and recreation in the Book of Creation in a later post.
Two Creations
I can’t say if this story of two creations is literally true, or not, but we must read it carefully. It doesn’t really say that the Earth was created twice, or that the physical universe was created, destroyed, and created again (re-creation). It says that a great catastrophe hit the earth killing almost everything on it, and it took much time to recover. After the recovery is what this quote is calling the second creation, which is our own world.
A Dragon out of Heaven
This description of the destruction of the “first earth” doesn’t really sound like something from Heaven, and we can rest assured that it wasn’t. While the writer of this section (the Kolbrin Bible has many writers, much like the traditional Christian holy Bible) is blaming it on God, those of us who have studied spiritual development and spiritual knowledge for years know that God is NEVER the destroyer. Satan destroys, not the great God. But this description of a “dragon “ from Heaven circling the earth and belching fire and hot rocks sound like something we are more familiar with today: a large asteroid or comet passing close to the earth. That is what the destroyer most likely was. In fact, as I read this description, I couldn’t help but think of the theory of Immanuel Velikovsky that the planet Venus was a large comet that entered our solar system thousands of years ago, passing close to the earth, and causing great destruction. Maybe this is the real planet x. It is definitely what is called “the frightener”.
Memory Mercifully Departed from Man
If the events described above in allegorical terms did happen, then it is obvious that the memory of them did mercifully depart from humanity, with a few rare exceptions, and nightmares of those dark days. While you may think that such a thing is unforgettable, it is a known psychiatric fact that many people forget traumatic events that happen to them personally, so it is certainly possible that these things could be forgotten on a larger scale.
Man is not Easily Destroyed
Individual men (and women) are generally easy to destroy, but as a whole, humanity cannot easily be destroyed by the forces of darkness as we have the protection of God and the Angels to prevent that. You may wonder how catastrophes can happen at all if God offers us protection. It is because of the things we do and the things we think. If we behave and think destructively, destruction is reflected back to us. God will not stop that because we must learn the lesson of controlling our actions and thoughts.
Man Suffers
The quote from the first Kolbrin Bible book says that man suffers “ not only for what he does but for what he fails to do.” While that is true, it is false to believe that God is the cause of the suffering. Neither should we blame Jesus Christ for our suffering. Much of the suffering is caused by ourselves, and some are caused by Satan and the forces of Darkness. They punish us to control us and stop us from trying to develop our spiritual selves. As for being punished for what we fail to do, we are almost always the cause of that suffering. Subconsciously, we know that we should do better, so we program the subconscious to punish us for our failure.
Summary
The main discussion in this chapter of “The Kolbrin Bible” which is part of the Egyptian texts, is about the “destruction” of the first “creation” of earth and its recovery and renewal. While that doesn’t sound like a spiritual matter, and that is not surprising as most consider the Kolbrin Bible to be a secular anthology, the chapter implies that the destruction was caused by God. That is a false belief, as already discussed, yet this chapter is worth quoting because there is evidence that such destruction did happen in the distant past, and humanity was nearly wiped out. This is a great book for many reasons, but mainly for spiritual information. It should be noted the the Kolbrin Bible Book of Manuscripts was rescued from the fire at Glastonbury Abbey in 1184, which is more evidence that it was considered a spiritual book. It may also serve as an alternative to other religious literature, such as the Hebrew Bible where the story of Exodus and Moses is different from that found in the Kolbrin Bible book that covers that event. The latter part of the Kolbrin Bible is the Celtic texts written by Celtic priests rather than Egyptians, around the time of Jesus Christ, so it is obviously spiritual. We will get to the Celtic Texts in later articles in this series.
