“Jesus said, ‘I am the one who comes from what is whole. I was given from the things of my Father. I say, if you are whole, you will be filled with light, but if divided, you will be filled with darkness.’

“Jesus said, ‘I disclose my mysteries to those who are worthy of my mysteries. Do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.’

“’One who knows all but lacks within is totally lacking.’

“’Blessings on you when you are hated and persecuted, and no place will be found, wherever you are persecuted.’

“Jesus said, ‘Blessings on you who have been persecuted in your hearts, Only you truly know the Father.’

“If you bring forth what is within you, what you have will save you. If you have nothing within you, what you do not have within you will kill you.’

“Jesus said, ‘The harvest is large but the workers are few.

“There are many standing at the door but those who are alone will enter the wedding chamber.’

“The father’s kingdom is like a merchant who owned a supply of merchandise and found a pearl. The merchant was prudent. He sold his goods and bought the single pearl for himself. So with you. Seek the treasure that is unfailing and enduring, where no moth comes to devour and no worm destroys.

“A women said to him, ‘Blessings on the womb that bore you and the breasts that fed you.’

“He said to her, ‘Blessings on those who have heard the word of the father and have truly kept it.’

“Let a person of wealth rule, and a person of power renounce it.

“Whoever is near me is near fire and whoever is far from me is far from the kingdom.’”

-Gospel of Thomas (61-82)

The Gospel of Thomas

The Gospel of Thomas has been left out of most versions of the Bible, but it should have been included. Is is probably because of the false stories resulting in the name “Doubting Thomas”. In truth, Thomas was one of the most devoted apostles and he did much to spread the teachings of Jesus.

What is Whole

When Jesus says he came from what is whole, he means that he came from the spiritual world where all is One, therefore, it is whole, not divided. Jesus adds that if we are whole, we will be filled with Light. As physical beings, we can’t be whole. Physical beings are divided, and separate. It is only by awakening and developing our spiritual Self that we can become whole and be filled with Light. This is not ordinary light that Jesus is talking about, but the Spiritual Light that comes from God and reaches us through the Spiritual Sun.

I Disclose Mysteries

Jesus is speaking as Christ when he says that he discloses mysteries to those who are worthy. By that, he means those who will use such knowledge to do God’s work on Earth rather than to help themselves in a material way.

One Who Knows All

There are people who think they know everything, but they only know the physical realm, the realm of illusion, and therefore don’t really know much of any importance. So without developing their spiritual faculties, they really are lacking.

Blessing on Those Hated and Persecuted

Jesus is speaking of those who are hated and persecuted because they practice spiritual development as part of their everyday life, not those who are hated because they are criminals or evil people.

The Merchant Who Found a Pearl

The merchant represents those of us who seek the Pearl of Heaven which is to awaken and develop the Spirit into a conscious Soul capable of eternal life in Heaven. That is the pearl that is priceless. We have wealthy people who spend great amounts of money seeking ways to extend their physical lives by a few years, but it is still nothing compared to the infinite life of a Soul in Heaven.

Near Me is Near Fire

When Jesus said that those near him were near fire, he meant the allegorical fire of God’s grace, God’s Light, and God’s Wisdom.
