What Heaven Is

There are many ideas of what Heaven is and isn’t. Some make sense, others are ridiculous.

Some people expect heaven to be just like another Earth, where we will meet again with the people we knew before, reunite with lost pets, go fishing, hunt, or play golf, just as we did on Earth. If that were true, there would be no reason to have a Heaven at all.

Some people say that Heaven and Earth are the same thing, it is just a matter of attitude, and what we choose to look at. While we can look at the positive side of Earth all we want, but it won’t hide the fact that on this plane of existence, we have death, disease, and the need to kill and eat other beings to survive. None of those things belong in Heaven, and none of them are in Heaven.

Heaven is the highest level of Reality, the place of Christ Consciousness and Unity with God and the Angels. It is not material at all, so it is very different from the Earthly plain. It is about eternal life in spirit form.

Quotes from Gene Savoy, Sr.

Here are a few quotes from the writings of Gene Savoy, Sr. regarding Heaven.

“The Child Prodigy would attain early maturity in his second year, revealing heavenly knowledge to which the average mortal does not have access. In addition, the heaven-sent Child would serve as a precursor of some great future cosmic event (from fragmentary scroll texts from the Qumran Dead Sea Literature).”

“He [Jamil] communed with Heaven, partaking only of a holy repast that nourished the spiritual part of him and that in some secret way gave life to the physical. He lived on the heavenly Bread and the Cup of God, relating to all of nature, aware that the spirit lived in everything.”

“And The Man gazed at The Light, hearing the final words spoken to his Eternal Soul from the abode of Heaven. “Nothing shall be as it was; the old passes away. A New Sun and a New Earth created for a just end is the gift of God. And the message of God has come to heal all men.”

“The reward given by Christ is immortality for ever and ever in the presence of God the Father who abides in heaven and the Worlds of Light with Angels of Light and Men of Light.”

“And the power of the living Community on earth shall proceed from heaven and the Worlds of Light working in harmony with stellar bodies.”

“Nothing of great consequence transpires in heaven unless it first transpires in the Consciousness of God. For this reason, all that I did in the world transpired before in heaven and in the Consciousness of God.”

Hierarchy of Dimensions

If atoms be not the beginning of all things, … then must we grant that there is a nature that governs the universe.” -Marcus Aurelius

If we think about it, it makes perfect sense that Reality exists as a hierarchy of Dimensions. Our physical body is a hierarchy; from atoms to molecules, molecules to tissues, tissues to organs, etc. The physical universe is a hierarchy of galaxies made up of billions of stars, many stars forming solar systems with planets, planets having moons, etc. That is what Marcus Aurelius is saying in the above quote. A hierarchy is the natural structure of almost everything, so it should be the same with the All, the Reality that includes spirit as well as matter. So logically, there must be a highest dimension, which most call “Heaven”.

Hierarchy of Consciousness

“I imagine our first glimpse of Heaven will cause us to gasp in amazement and delight. That first gasp will likely be followed by many more as we continually encounter new sights in that endlessly wonderful place.” – Randy Alcorn

Another way to look at Heaven is that it is the highest level of consciousness one can achieve. Those who have not developed their spiritual side at all exist at a low level of consciousness that is barely above that of animals. Once you awaken and develop your spiritual faculties, your level of consciousness gradually increases until you reach that level found in Heaven often referred to as Christ Consciousness. Many scientists agree that there are multiple levels of consciousness, though they often disagree on how many there are, and how to achieve higher levels. The great Mystery Schools and spiritual schools of the past had no such problem. They knew how to develop higher levels of consciousness, and they knew that when you achieve Christ Consciousness, you exist at the consciousness level of Heaven, so there is no doubt in your mind that Heaven is real.

Near-Death Experiences

“Some people who have had near-death experiences report feelings of peace and light, which some interpret as evidence of heaven. However, these experiences can have scientific explanations, and NDEs don’t provide conclusive proof.” -Google’s Gemini

Several books have been written on the subject of what is called “Near-Death Experiences” or “NDEs”. In these books, people describe what they believe is life after death and they often meet loved ones who have died. I have read one such book ( “Proof of Heaven: a Neurosurgeon’s Journey into the Afterlife” by Dr.Eben Alexander) and found it very convincing. It was authored by a medical doctor who always thought such things were nonsense, but not when it happened to him. The illness he had shut down the part of his brain that might have caused hallucinations, so he knows that what he experienced while he was in a coma was not a hallucination. While he doesn’t call the place he went to Heaven, it is clear from the description that Heaven is where he went, or at least to a spiritual dimension very close to Heaven. His description of a place full of Light and universal Love matches the experiences of some other NDEs and the description of Heaven.

Teachings of Jesus Christ

Jesus, who often spoke in cryptic parables to his disciples, mentions the coming Child in allegorical terms: ‘At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?” And Jesus called a little child unto him and set him in the midst of them, and said, “Verily, I say unto you, except ye be converted and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

These words reflect Jesus’ claim that he came from another world, a world of Light, or the Kingdom of Heaven.” -Gene Savoy, Sr.

Jesus spoke often of the Kingdom of Heaven. His whole purpose on Earth was to help people do the things necessary to awaken and develop their latent spiritual faculties so that they could go to heaven. Sadly, it didn’t take long for those teachings to be lost after Jesus left the world.

Eternal Longing

“Humans often sense an innate longing for something beyond this earthly existence” -Google’s Gemini

Ecclesiastes 3:11 says that God has set eternity in our hearts. This inner awareness hints at the existence of a greater reality.” -Microsoft Copilot

Millions, if not billions, of people all over the world have what Copilot calls an “innate longing” for something beyond physical life. This has been true since the beginning of recorded history, and probably before. Atheists will argue that such longings are like those many poor people who long to be wealthy, but I think it is different. People of all economic levels, all races, all nationalities, and all beliefs have a belief in an afterlife in a place that most call Heaven. I don’t think we can simply write it off as a popular fantasy.

In America

While American beliefs vary widely these days, Roughly seven-in-ten (72%) of Americans say they believe in heaven — defined as a place “where people who have led good lives are eternally rewarded,” according to the Pew Research Center’s 2014 Religious Landscape Study.

Summary

So basically, there is no way to prove the existence of heaven that will be accepted by non-religious people and scientists. That doesn’t mean Heaven doesn’t exist. There are millions of people who don’t believe we ever sent a man to the moon, but they are wrong. There are millions who believe the world is flat, but they are also wrong. But there is enough belief in Heaven to make it nearly certain that it exists. There may be more people who believe that Heaven exists than there are people who disbelieve.

“The existence of Heaven has been a topic of contemplation and faith for centuries. While it’s ultimately a matter of personal belief, here are some perspectives:

Biblical View: Many religious traditions, including Christianity, describe Heaven as a place of eternal joy and communion with God. The Bible speaks of Heaven as a real and glorious realm where believers will experience God’s presence and everlasting life. Jesus Himself promised to prepare a place for His followers in Heaven

Hinduism:

  • Hinduism sees the atman (spiritual essence) as eternal.
  • The atman seeks union with the Universal Soul (Brahman).

Diverse Beliefs:

“Some faiths envision ascension to paradise or descent into hell.

  • Others propose rebirth into a new physical body or merging with the Divine.” -Microsoft Copilot

So the scripture of most religions of the world includes a belief in a Heaven. The Book of Genesis in the Bible says: “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” That seems to be talking about the creation of the physical universe, however. The book of Romans in the New Testament speaks of a road to Heaven, which is obvious allegory. St. Peter is often depicted as standing at the entrance to Heaven and deciding who can get in. In Corinthians, it says that the apostle Paul is taken up into the third Heaven, whatever that means. In John 14, Jesus talks about leaving them and going to Heaven. In John 3, Jesus says: “No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven.” In the Book of Hebrews, Jesus, as Son of God, is said to be preparing people to “approach the Father in heaven”. The Book of Isaiah describes a vision Isaiah has of the Kingdom of Heaven. Yet despite all of this, there is no absolute proof of Heaven. Some say the idea of heaven is just wishful thinking on the part of human beings who can’t face the idea of mortality. In New York, there is even a Gate of Heaven cemetery. So how do you know? You really don’t, but there is quite a lot of evidence in favor of a Kingdom of Heaven.
