The Sun as a Pathway
In Cosolargy, we value the sun not only as the primary source of physical energy but also as a primary source of spiritual Energy and Information. All life on earth owes its existence to the sun. Indeed, without it, all life on the planet would cease to exist. But rarely do people think about that. It is the source of all life on the planet! But in Cosolargy we do not stare at the closest star in our universe, and we do not worship it. The sun is an intermediary between what’s within all of us and higher dimensions.
However, in order to use the sun as a pathway correctly, we must learn how to properly utilize the energy of the sun. This is accomplished by means of the System of Cosolargy, which is taught through our Academy Program.
Sun viewing is an ancient practice. Cosolargy is the modern method of solar absorption and reflection based on spiritual arts, sciences, and therapeutic techniques. The System helps you use the sun as a pathway to self-development and spiritual transformation. Cosolargy has roots in the originally revealed teachings of several spiritual systems, both East and West, such as Taoism, Confucianism, Buddhism, Hinduism and Brahmanism, Zoroastrianism, and mystical Islam, Judaism, and Christianity.

Light Absorption and General Wellness
The health benefits of sun gazing are many, including raising your level of Consciousness, strengthening your connection with nature, and increasing physical and mental energy. With the help of Cosolargy’s teachings, the System will help you reach a higher state of awareness through a correct and conscious connection with your immortal Light Body. The Cosolargy Academy teaches correct ways of looking at the sun while also suggesting guidelines for a healthy diet and lifestyle.
These physical benefits combined with spiritual guidance restore the mind and body, which is why sun gazing has seen a popular modern resurgence. You will learn how to incorporate your eight force centers (chakras) with solar viewing and healing techniques using sound and light. Most importantly, you will learn how to awaken the Four Force Centers of your Spiritual Light Body.
Contrary to what you may have heard as a child, the proper practice of sun gazing can contribute to a general sense of well-being and, when applied in the proper manner, can be quite beneficial.
Our ancestors understood the relation between the sun and health. Many ancient peoples have practiced sun gazing as a meditative practice or contemplation done with the eyes open. Many past cultures throughout the world revered sun gazing as an esoteric practice for high-ranking priests — ancient Egyptians, the Essenes of ancient Israel, Native Americans, and past and present yogis of India, among others. The eyes are outgrowths of the brain searching for visual information.
Modern day sun gazers say the practice has increased their energy levels and general sense of wellness. Many who practice this type of meditation claim there are physical and psychological benefits to the practice of sun gazing regularly. This includes more energy, better sleep (because it resets the circadian rhythm), and lower stress.

Reported Dangers of Sun Gazing
Ultraviolet (UV) light is a form of electromagnetic radiation. It is invisible to the human eye because of its very short wavelength. There are three types of UV light, based on wavelength range. UVA wavelength is 315 to 400 nanometers. UVB is 280 to 315 nanometers, and UVC is 100 to 280 nanometers. Conventional medicine baldly states that exposure to UV rays causes damage to the eyes. For example, the World Health Organization estimates that up to 20 percent of cataracts worldwide may be caused by overexposure to UV radiation.

Many medical professionals say that long-term exposure to UV radiation can increase your risk of developing a cataract or macular degeneration. And many optometrists today will tell you that sun gazing or even simple exposure of the eye to sunlight will cause eye damage. They will recommend that you wear sunglasses whenever you are outdoors. Yet it was not always this way.
Most cataracts happen because of normal changes in your eyes as you get older. When you’re young, the lens in your eye is clear. Around middle age, the proteins in the lens of your eye start to break down and clump together. This clump makes a cloudy area on your lens — known as a cataract.
Excessive exposure to the ultraviolet radiation in sunlight is also thought to be the cause of pterygium. Long-term exposure to dusty or sandy environments in dry and windy locations is thought to contribute to the development of the condition. Risk increases with age.
Photokeratitis is another painful eye condition thought to be caused by exposure to ultraviolet rays. You can compare photokeratitis to sunburn. But it’s a burn that affects parts of your eye instead of your skin.
Solar retinopathy (also known as eclipse retinopathy) refers to photochemical injury to the macular tissue (central retina). It is commonly associated with sun gazing or eclipse viewing but is avoidable with proper practice. That is why we strongly recommend removing prescription eyeglasses or contact lenses when viewing the sun, so that the magnifying properties of the eyeglasses or contact lenses do not focus intense light on the retinas.
While it may be true that careless overexposure of the eye to sunlight can cause these conditions, proper practice of solar techniques in the progressive manner taught in the System of Cosolargy does not contribute to the development of those conditions. Even those conditions that occur with aging and the environment can often be slowed or reversed with healthy practice.

Physical Benefits of Sun Gazing
There are a range of sun gazing benefits to the body you can take advantage of through sun exposure. The sun’s rays hold ultraviolet B rays or UVB. During sensible sun exposure, the skin absorbs UVB radiation and the body converts it to Vitamin D. Vitamin D strengthens the immune system. It also plays an important role in maintaining many functions of the body, including circadian rhythm and sleep duration. In addition to providing the body with Vitamin D, the benefits of sun gazing are manifold.
Exposure to sunlight can also affect the release of a hormone called serotonin, also known as “feel-good” hormones. Serotonin helps you manage your mood, focus, and calmness. In addition to serotonin release, sun gazing also improves the pineal gland functions. That’s the gland responsible for the production of melatonin, the hormone responsible for sleep. If you practice sun gazing on a regular basis, you may notice an improvement in your circadian rhythm, resulting in better quality sleep.
Research shows sun gazing stimulates the pineal gland as the direct sunlight hits the eye, moves through the retinal-hypothalamic tract, and then hits the brain. This stimulates the pineal gland, also known as the “master gland.”
Not only can the practice of absorbing sunlight boost hormone levels, it has also been shown to increase the size of the pineal gland. Sun gazing may also activate the pituitary gland, a part of the endocrine system linked to the secretion of hormones. However, there is not yet enough scientific research to support this.
The body and mind can be nourished by the sun, reducing the need for food and resulting in excess weight loss.
Intake of solar energy can be beneficial to all your body’s physiological processes. The techniques used in Cosolargy bring additional energy into the nervous system and distribute it throughout the organism. Such intake makes the organism more sensitive and can extend extrasensory perception, higher levels of awareness, and sharper mental ability.
This energy nourishes cells. It reactivates the pineal gland (which is often atrophied in adults) and restores its normal function. The intake of solar energy also influences the pituitary gland, which regulates endocrine activity.
Intake of solar energy can also rejuvenate your physiological attributes. The energy of any organism depletes itself through the normal course of living. But solar eye techniques can replenish this energy in part.
According to Ayurveda, an ancient system of healing with historical roots in the Indian subcontinent, sunlight is one of the main sources of the vital life force called “prana.” Solar intake not only provides the vital life processes with energy, it can diminish the effects of aging to a remarkable degree.

Psychological and Spiritual Benefits of Sun Gazing
The rejuvenating effect of absorbing solar energy varies with the person. But the therapeutic value to the physical body and mental health is secondary. More important are the psychological and spiritual benefits. Solar light/energy contains Intelligence which we call “Information Factors” (IF). These Factors taken into the nervous system have the capacity to achieve things. Reaction to the intake of solar light/energy IF varies. An organism’s ability to work with a stimuli determines the response.
The Process
Reaching a higher state of Consciousness does not come instantaneously from looking at the sun. It takes time, guidance, commitment, internal development, and spiritual growth. Cosolargy’s Academy Program spans 24 months of practice in which you are assigned an advanced practitioner, called a preceptor, to guide you. Together you will discuss written and audio documentation around the practice of sun gazing. Your preceptor acts as your tutor to lead you through the stages of your transformation and to answer questions that may arise as you advance through the Process of Spiritual Regeneration.
Once you are familiar with the teachings of Cosolargy and have some experience with safe sun gazing, you will begin to meet with Community members and attend the Center in the high desert of northern Nevada to learn and grow with one another.
Enlightenment and the development of your spiritual Consciousness is the ultimate goal of Cosolargy. Yet it is a life-long process that is attained in stages. Once you become a Consociate of the Community of Cosolargy, our hope for you is that you will be reborn into the Worlds of Light and truly connect with your immortal Light Body. As a practitioner of Cosolargy, you will learn to balance and increase your physical and mental energy. This will lead you to a healthier lifestyle, as well as a better connection with your true self and eventually a higher dimension of life.

Sun Gazing vs sun gazing
While sun gazing is seeing a modern-day resurgence, there is a difference between doing it yourself with no instruction and with the teachers of Cosolargy and the Cosolargy Community. Receiving energy from the sun is something people do every day. Whether you go to the beach in the summer or just enjoy a clear, sunny day, it’s not hard to see how humans and all living things benefit from the sun’s energy.
We even know the scientific benefits of the sun’s rays. Sunlight and darkness affect our physical bodies as our skin releases hormones through the pineal gland. Sunlight releases serotonin. The right amount of serotonin and Vitamin D has been proven to elevate the state of mind and increase energy levels while maintaining focus and motivation. We know sunlight is good for the human body, but what we need to learn is how sunlight affects the human mind and spirit.
There is a wealth of ancient information around how to harness the sun’s energy in the most beneficial way possible. From the ancient Egyptians and the Mayas to Buddha’s disciples to Jesus and the original Essene-Christians, the difference between “low” sun worship and “high” spiritual practice is vast. For seven decades now, Cosolargy has organized centuries-worth of instruction and practice around sun gazing to create the System that is necessary to get the most out of the sun gazing experience.
The sun releases cosmic energy and information through photons. When these photons enter your body through your eyes, they impact millions of neurons. The pineal and pituitary glands are affected and enhanced, and a “third eye” is developed. Sun gazers without the appropriate instruction cannot process this energy and information to their fullest potential. They may feel good, but don’t know why. With proper sun gazing techniques, and additional training in the Sacred Teachings of Light through Cosolargy, you can begin to decipher the Language of the Sun.

Correct Instruction
Staring at the sun is not good for the human eye. It can cause severe damage to the retina (solar retinopathy) due to a flood of ultraviolet light and can even cause blindness. There is a reason they tell you not to stare at solar eclipses. This is why it is dangerous for someone to simply Google how to sun gaze and then look up into the sky in the afternoon. Doing so seems to go against common sense, but it does happen.
In order to truly benefit from solar energy, there is a correct way to look at the sun. There are safe hours to look at direct sunlight and techniques to process cosmic energy. Furthermore, you must have the right internal foundation to decipher the sun’s messages completely.
Cosolargy is the path to correctly harness the power of the sun. Our System is built to teach you how to awaken and develop your force centers (chakras) to their optimum and move from the physical world toward the spiritual Worlds of Light.
