” The sinner shall not escape with his spoils: and the patience of the godly shall not be frustrate. Make way for every work of mercy: for every man shall find according to his works. The Lord hardened Pharaoh, that he should not know him, that his powerful works might be known to the world. His mercy is manifest to every creature; and he hath separated his light from the darkness with an adamant. Say not thou, I will hide myself from the Lord: shall any remember me from above? I shall not be remembered among so many people: for what is my soul among such an infinite number of creatures? Behold, the heaven, and the heaven of heavens, the deep, and the earth, and all that therein is, shall be moved when he shall visit.
“The mountains also and foundations of the earth be shaken with trembling, when the Lord looketh upon them. No heart can think upon these things worthily: and who is able to conceive his ways? It is a tempest which no man can see: for the most part of his works are hid. Who can declare the works of his justice? or who can endure them? for his covenant is afar off, and the trial of all things is in the end. ” ~Ecclesiasticus
Sinner Shall Not Escape
The sinner here is cleary the greedy person or con man who gains his material wealth by cheating others and takes far more than he actually needs, thereby depriving others. While we have probably all heard, “you can’t take it with you,” most of these people don’t care because they don’t believe in an afterlife. The few that do, don’t believe that being greedy and dishonest will affect their afterlife in any way. Both of those philosophies are wrong. There is an afterlife and what we do in this life greatly affects what that afterlife will be. In Cosolargy, we believe that it is important to prepare for that afterlife if we want a good one. That doesn’t just mean avoiding sins such as greed, murder, robbery, and so on. It also means that we go through a process to awaken and develop the spirit and soul while we are still alive in the physical realm.
If Noah had waited until the rain started, he would not have completed the ark in time to make use of it. While his tale may be purely allegorical, this point is still valid. You don’t wait until the flood started to build a boat and you don’t wait until you are on a sinking ship to learn how to swim. So we awaken and develop our spiritual faculties now, while we can. If we wait until we are physically dead, it is too late.
But what of the afterlife of those sinners? While no one can say exactly what that will be, we can guess based on the lifestyle of the person what it probably will be. The greedy person may come back into the physical world as an animal that struggles all it’s life to get food. The person who cares nothing about others may come back as some timid beast that is constantly being chased and hunted by others. The arson will probably come back as some animal that gets caught in a wildfire. As ye sow, so shall ye reap.
Patience of the Godly
The godly do have to have patience to survive in the world of greedy people who care only for themselves. But believing in God doesn’t automatically make you patient. It is a trait we have to develop. Those who truly believe in God and follow God’s Law will work hard to become a godly person and develop patience, kindness, tolerance, and other traits of the godly.
Separated Light from Darkness
Many people get confused about this. They think of light and darkness in material terms so keeping them separated makes no sense. But it actually means spiritual light and darkness. The sinner lives in darkness, no matter how bright the world around them might seem. The godly live in light, even when surrounded by the darkest of sinners.
The material universe, created by the Demiurge, not God, is the realm of darkness. Again, darkness in a spiritual sense. Light is not entirely kept away from it. If it were, our plight would be hopeless. But the Source of Light, which is God, never enters the realm of darkness. Yet He allows spiritual light into this realm through the Spiritual sun and the spirits of the other stars (everything has a spirit). God’s plan is to reclaim this realm by transforming it back into spirit. To do that quickly would cause much destruction, so instead, He does it very gradually.
As we are in the End Times now, that process is speeding up and will be completed soon. In this case, we mean “soon” in a cosmic sense, so it could be next year, next decade, or next century. So we should assume that it can happen at any time and we should be prepared by turning away from the ways of the sinner and learning the ways of the godly.
